1. Warranty Conditions
These Product Warranty Terms and Conditions set out the warranty provided by the ASSA ABLOY (Thailand) Co., Ltd. in respect of Vale-branded products and supersede any prior or implied warranties, to the extent permitted by applicable laws.
The company warrants only to the eligible original end-user purchaser that eligible products are free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal residential use, subject strictly to the terms below. This warranty is non-transferable and applies only to products that satisty all of the following conditions:
- The product is a Yale-branded products officially imported, distributed and sold within Thailand by the company or its authorized distributors only.
- The warranty applies exclusively to the eligible first end-user purchaser whose name appears on the tax inwoice or receipt issued by an authorized Yale distributor. Transferees, secondary buyers, or purchasers from non-authorized sellers are not covered.
- Proof of purchase is provided and remains legible and verifiable.
- The product is used solely for private residential purposes.
The following are expressly excluded from warranty coverage:
- Products used in projects, commercial premises, rental properties, serviced apartments, hotels, or other non-residential applications.
- Products purchased from unauthorized sellers, parallel imports, or second-hand markets.
The company's determination of eligibility and coverage shall be final and binding, subject to applicable laws.
2. Warranty Periods
2.1 Fixed Term Warranty (2 years / 4 years / 5 years)
This warranty applies only to selected Digital Door Lock models as explicitly specified in official company documentation, product packaging or promotional materials. The warranty period varies by model as determined by the company.
Warranty Commencement Period:
The warranty period starts at the earlier of the date of installation or 45 days from the purchase date stated on the receipt or tax invoice.
2.2 Lifetime Warranty (Life of Product)
Definition: "Lifetime" refers to the period during which the specific product model continues to be manufactured and marketed in Thailand, and upon product discontinuation (End of Life), the warranty shall automatically terminate unless otherwise determined by the company at its sole discretion; this warranty applies only to mechanical products expressly designated by the company, including but not limited to these specified:
- Door bolt sets
- Door accessories
- Door handles
- Door/window/furniture hinges
- Doorknobs
- Lever handles
- Mortise lock sets
- Padlock
Note: If a product is not expressly stated to be covered, it is deemed excluded.
3. Exclusion and Limitations of Coverage
The warranty covers only manufacturing or assembly detects, It does not cover damage, malfunction, or deterioration arising from misuse, environmental conditions, or external factors. Without limitation, the following are excluded:
- Improper use, abuse, negligence, or failure to follow the user manuals
- Normal wear and tears, cosmetic damage, or surface deterioration (scratches, fading, etc.)
- Rental or excessive usage
- Damage from improper transportation, handling, or storage
- Forced entry, tampering, or intentional damage
- Incorrect installation or post-installation modification
- Repairs performed by unauthorized persons
- Damage from accidents, fire, flood, lightning, or natural disasters
- Environmental exposure including but not limited to construction dust, humidity, salt air, cement vapor, or harsh environments
- Installation in high-risk environments [including seaside or pool-adjacent locations)
- Use of chemicals or corrosive substances
- Power surges, short circuits, or incorrect voltage
- Use of non-standard, or incompatible batteries
- Accessories or components that do not affect the product's core functionality
- Complimentary batteries or accessories (provkled "as is")
4. Warranty Claim Procedure
To submit a warranty claim, the eligible purchaser must:
- If within the retailer's warranty period, contact the retailer directly.
- If beyond the retailer's warranty period, contact Yale Customer Support.
Claim Requirements:
- The eligible purchaser must present the original receipt or tax invoice
- The eligible purchaser must submit a written claim with detailed description of the issue and support photographs or videos
- The eligible purchaser must ensure that the product has not been modified or repaired without authorization
- The eligible purchaser must ensure that the installation and use of product comply with the company's instructions
- The eligible purchaser must ensure the product remains installed and accessible for inspection unless prior written approval is granted (as inspection is part of the evaluation process)
The company reserves the right to inspect the product on-site or off-site and to reject any claim that fails to meet these requirements. All warranty decisions are made at the sole discretion of the company, subject to applicable laws.
5. Warranty Remodies
Where a valid warranty claim is accepted:
- The company may, at its discretion, replace the defective product or repair the defective parts free of charge, including both parts and labor for digital door lock products. If repair is not commercially reasonable or technically feasible, the company may replace the defective product or component with the same model or an equivalent product that provides comparable specifications and functionality.
- Repair or replacement under this section shall constitute the primary and exclusive remedy, subject to applicable laws.
- The warranty does not cover travel, access, accommodation, third party service costs, removal, reinstallation, or site preparation costs or incidental or ancillary expenses not directly related to repair or replacement. The aforesaid costs shall be borne by the eligible purchaser.
- A minimum shipping fee of THB 500 per shipment (up to 5 kg) applies, unless otherwise required by applicable laws.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable laws:
- The company shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of use or loss of profit.
- The company's total liability under this warranty shall not exceed the original purchase price of the product.
This clause does not affect statutory rights under the applicable laws.
7. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
The warranty terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Thailand.
Any dispute arising out of or in connection with the warranty terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Thailand, without prejudice to any mandatory rights or remedies available to consumers under applicable law.
8. Reservation of Rights
- The company reserves the right to amend the warranty terms from time to time without prior notice. Updated terms shall apply to claims submitted after the effective date of revision.
- All warranty determinations are subject to the company's sole discretion.
9. Effective Date and Applicability
- These warranty terms and conditions shall apply to products purchased on or after January 1, 2026.
