Warranty Terms and Conditions

A. Claims and Liability

ASSA ABLOY Indonesia (ASSA ABLOY) offers a wide range of products to the domestic and international markets, manufactured in accordance with product specifications published from time to time and within required processes. Meets ISO9001 international standards.


1. Claims
All claims must be approved according to the Warranty Claim Form. The request must be approved by ASSA ABLOY before any costs are incurred. ASSA ABLOY reserves the right to test the product in its installed state before the request is approved. ASSA ABLOY shall have the right, in its sole discretion, to repair or replace, without charge, any product or part found upon inspection by ASSA ABLOY to be defective under this warranty.

2. Liability
ASSA ABLOY makes no other warranty of any kind expressed or implied with respect to products manufactured by ASSA ABLOY. ASSA ABLOY's sole responsibility is to repair or replace a product pursuant to a valid warranty claim. In no event shall ASSA ABLOY be liable for direct, indirect, incidental or consequential costs, including dismantling and reinstallation costs, loss of operations or profits to the extent maximum permitted by law. ASSA ABLOY accepts no liability for personal injury or property damage resulting from failure to comply with relevant installation, operating or safety procedures.

 

B. General warranty terms


ASSA ABLOY products are warranted by a full warranty against defective materials or manufacturing defects, including repair and service for a period of 2 years from the date of purchase. 


1. The warranty provided by ASSA ABLOY applies to manufacturer defects for products used within Indonesia.

2. ASSA ABLOY has the right to refuse warranty for products of non-genuine origin purchased and sold by ASSA ABLOY and/or authorized distributors and agents of ASSA ABLOY.

3. Warranty and repair services can only be performed by ASSA ABLOY technicians or warranty centers authorized by ASSA ABLOY.

4. The buyer must present the purchase invoice and/or electronic warranty card from an authorized ASSA ABLOY dealer when making a warranty claim.

5. Depending on each specific case, services may be charged even during the warranty period.

6. The warranty DOES NOT APPLY to the following cases:

The serial number of the product or E-Warranty has been altered, tampered with or removed.
The serial number of the product or E-Warranty altered, tampered or removed.
The equipment has been tampered with, abused, or damaged during transportation. The product has not been installed, maintained, or operated according to the instructions given by the manufacturer.
The product has been repaired, altered, or dismantled by anyone other than an ASSA ABLOY technician or an ASSA ABLOY authorized service center employee.
Defect caused by abnormal voltage changes or unstable power supply.
Defects caused by fire, explosion, lightning, electrical disturbances, negligence, accidents and other natural disasters or deviations from installation and use not in accordance with recommendations.
Defects caused by household pests such as lizard, rat, cockroach, etc.
Defects caused by household pests such as lizard, rat, cockroach, etc.
Defects caused by chemical reactions, excessive temperatures, excessive dust, corrosive surroundings, such as cement factories, livestock farms, etc.
Spare parts that require replacement during normal use due to wear and tear due to product-specific reasons, including accessories
The exterior appearance including the cabinet and joints resists damage, scratches and aging.
The damage is not due to manufacturing defects.
Damage caused by transportation or installation not following the manufacturer's instructions.
Customers preserve products in improper conditions and arbitrarily change the product structure.
Surface damage caused by improper construction and preservation of the product, such as exposing the product directly to chemicals, dust, environments with high humidity, etc.
The surface corrodes during use, or rust occurs on plated steel components.
Use in excess of the product's allowable load and parameters.
Damages caused by defective products.
Display products and the like.
The product is not used in accordance with its intended purpose.
Force majeure damage due to natural disasters such as floods, fires,...
7. The warranty is void if the equipment is being operated other than as recommended by ASSA ABLOY or the manufacturer.

8. Under this warranty, ASSA ABLOY is responsible for repairing or replacing the defective product. The warranty does not cover any direct or indirect loss and damage caused by the products.

9. ASSA ABLOY reserves the right to impose additional costs or may refuse to participate in the warranty when the product is installed in locations that are inaccessible or dangerous to ASSA technicians and employees. ABLOY or an employee of a warranty center authorized by ASSA ABLOY.

10. ASSA ABLOY's decision is based on the results of determining all causes related to complaints about product defects, damage, and damage.

11. ASSA ABLOY authorized dealers, stores, employees, and warranty centers may not modify or extend the terms of this warranty in any way.

12. The sale shall make no claim under this warranty for personal injury, damage to property or consequential damages.

13. Failure to comply with the provisions of clauses 6 and 9, ASSA ABLOY reserves the right to refuse warranty requests

 

C. Warranty and storage conditions


1. Warranty conditions

a. Repair or replace spare parts and components for free if customers fully meet the following conditions:

The product is still within the Warranty Period.
The product is used for its intended purpose, performance and in a manner consistent with the manufacturer's instructions.
The damage or error of the product is concluded to be due to damage or error of spare parts, components or manufacturer error.
Present the purchase invoice or delivery record from an authorized ASSA ABLOY dealer when making a warranty claim.


b. Exchange new similar products for customers in the following cases:

Failure to repair or fix defects in products. The time to repair and overcome is too long compared to regulations.
The warranty has been performed multiple times (for the same error) within the Warranty Period but the error still cannot be resolved. Determining the number of warranty times performed as a basis for exchanging a new similar product will be agreed upon by ASSA ABLOY depending on each specific case.


c. Forms of exchanging new products:

Exchange for a product of the same type with similar features or exchange for a product of the same type but with more advanced features. Depending on the actual situation, the parties will agree on the remaining value of the damaged product to be replaced as a basis for exchanging a new, similar product according to this clause. Accordingly, the parties will agree on the difference between the price of the new replacement product and the replaced defective product that one party needs to pay back to the other party at the time of product exchange.
All defective, damaged or defective parts, components or products replaced under this warranty shall become the property of ASSA ABLOY Vietnam.
 

2. Some notes on installation and maintenance

Most products will be installed at the final stage.
If installed during construction, it is necessary to cover the product. Do not use tape directly on the product surface.
Do not let dirt, stone powder, wall putty, etc. fall inside or on the surface of the product.
Do not let the product come into contact with corrosive chemicals such as gasoline, strong detergents, high chlorine concentrations, acetone solvents, acids, benzene, etc.
Recommended chemicals for cleaning surfaces and preserving products are RP7, WD40, Autosol with a soft, dry cloth.
